Hello
Anyone care to join me in a Tuesday fast? It is 1pm here, and I am finding my resolve is a little low today. My day didn't start off well -had a restless night, then slept in so a mad rush to get to work. I am hankering for something nice for lunch, but will have my miso soup and some broccoli and try to stay on track.
It is only one day - I can have it tomorrow!
Here we are again, Merry, fasting together. This time you beat me on starting this page  I know how fast can be different in different times. My last Friday's fast was a disaster... I am sort of fasting twice a week and not losing much weight at all. I know I have not much to lose, and maybe that is part of the problem. It nice to have company in fasting, anyhow.
Thank you for joining me @Margotsylvia! I do my two fasts a week...keeps me on an even keel. I don't have much to lose, and as you say - that can make it slow.
So today's fast is done for me. I hope your day goes well too :clover:
I'm in today, today is a good fast day so far so good, piri piri chicken with salad planned for tonight. I'm only doing 2 fasts a week at the moment to get myself back in the swing of things before I go back to ADF, it's a big lifestyle commitment and I'm not ready for it just yet!
I'm fasting today as well, it hasn't been too bad so far, but the garden project I was planning to get on with today isn't working out and is making me grumpy.
I've just had a small egg salad for lunch and will have a prawn salad for dinner.
Good luck everyone :clover:
Hi everyone!
I'm in today too! I popped to M&S this morning and treated myself to a prawn risotto dish! As this is only 316 cals I am able to enjoy an M&S chocolate pudding - oh yes!!
To distract myself I'm going to an X-Men Triple Bill tonight. It'll keep me away from the food but not sure it'll keep me away from the zzzzzzs!! :sleepy:
Hope everyone's day is going well so far!!

This is my first time posting and thought I'd share my broth recipe. It always helps me on a Fast Day. Sometimes I'll have it early and then more for lunch. Today I'm waiting until noon to "break fast" so I won't eat for another hour. It only takes a few minutes to make.
Mock Miso Soup
1 box (4 cups) Aldi's organic beef broth 65 calories
1 can Aldi's sweet harvest canned mushrooms with liquid 45
(I didn't have fresh so I punted)
4 sliced green onions 20 calories
2 cloves chopped garlic trace calories
1/4-1/2 tsp olive oil 20 to 40 calories
1 tsp Teryaki Sauce 5 calories

Saute onions Olive Oil until transluscent. Add garlic and saute a bit. Pour in broth, mushrooms with juice, and teriyaki sauce. Heat till it simmers.

Total calories for entire pot 155-175. I buy green onions and freeze them whole with roots on, then just chop them when they are still frozen as I need them. They retain their freshness well. If using fresh mushrooms, just add them to the saute to cook a bit before adding broth. The onions provide moisture so I kept olive oil to 1/4 tsp. You could add celery but I prefer it with just onions. Very easy and I will eat this during the day. Then I'll have my 250 calorie supper tonight. *I'm in the U.S.

Use whatever broth brand you prefer. I like the new organic line at Aldi's. Lots of ways to adapt this and it's 32 ounces of soup for only 155 calories or so.
Just come back to fasting 5:2 after a three year break. It's gone ok, kept busy at work but NOW I remember why I used to have a diet coke in the afternoon on a fast day. Peak of hunger added to tiredness of no tea all day! Not so healthy I know but the bubbles are helping me last the extra hour before mackerel salad time. SO looking forward to tomorrow :)
Hi my fellow fastees..have had probs getting online today but fast went ok
Trouble is, i could eat all evening! Have brushed my teeth in an effort to remind myself food is done for today  x
