Yes, I've done it. It's now after midday and I've had a black coffee and a black Russian Caravan tea - plus a small cube of roast pumpkin - I had to try it as I was cooking it up to freeze. (pumpkin going mouldy in the fridge). Lovely sunny day; walking done. Going to have some miso soup soon and then a short stint in the jungle. It'll be an early tea because I'm going to a movie at 6.30pm. Pumpkin soup perhaps.
Feeling lonely, but I've done all right. Today I made my first ricotta. I didn't snack too badly and had a big bowl of pumpkin soup for dinner. Movie: John Pilger's Utopia was a bit hard going but redeemed by the talk before and after the film by the Amnesty International Aboriginal Community worker who gave the good news stories to counteract the darkness. I didn't stay for supper.
I'm here as usual @Sallyo altho' I expect you may in the land of nod by now with another successful fast under your belt. Anyone else out there?
I'm in for 2nd fast of the week. I'm up at 250cals already today so would like to only have another 100. It's only 2pm here so dunno how that will go. I have a courgette and was half think of doing something with it. Not prepared at all today really. 7 hours til bed and then the worst is over til my half fast friday
I'm fasting today. It's 10:45 am where I am, and I'm trying to make it until 2:00 before I have a small lunch. For dinner, I'm planning on tons of celery sticks with this awesome blue cheese dressing (which feels indulgent) and some raspberries. If I'm still hungry, I may make some plain popcorn. Lots of herbal tea and sparkling water.
@Sallyo sorry you were lonesome today. Are you now fasting Wednesdays rather than Thursdays and if so, is that because you want to shorten the fast experience and free up your TDEE week? I'm glad we have independent narrators like John Pilger who provide us a different lense to view global issues.
Hey Wednesday fasters, keep your resolve going. Tomorrow you'll feel great .... and I'll be in your boots, fasting. :clover:
I've been fasting today - almost by accident! I seem to have given up eating breakfast for the last few weeks and today I was busy trying on evening clothes to take away with me on the 30th. Decision, decisions, decisions! By the time I had sorted out jewellery and shoes to go with them it was far too late to eat lunch, so I waited until dinnertime!
I have eaten a small portion of home-made chicken casserole, with a little wholegrain rice and extra vegetables on the side. Although I was quite full, I wasn't satisfied so I had a small two-finger KitKat. That did the job and I am now on the homeward straight towards bed.
I have no idea how many calories I have had today but it must have been low enough to allow me to maintain, or may be even lose, this week. Fingers crossed! What I can say is that my evening dresses slipped on far more easily than prior to some previous cruises and without the seriously strong 'underpinnings' which I have had to resort to on occasion!
Well done if you have had a successful fast today, commiserations if it didn't work out for you this time and 'stay strong' if yours is still ongoing. Onwards and downwards!
