I'm in for a much needed fast since I was a bit above the top of my maintenance range last time I weighed. I still tend to fast about 3 times a week, but not as strictly as when I was losing weight.

Good luck, Wednesday fasters! :clover: :clover:
I am fasting today, looking forward to making a prawn and salmon stir fry
Happy with the way things are going so far, lost 3 kg in 4 weeks
hello fasters

had great intentions today but went to work at 4am, finished at 9am & then went for breakfast. ok, not a big breakfast, only scrambled egg on toast, but was hoping to wait til tea time to eat. as Ive eaten already will now make an effort to not eat til tomorrow morning about 10am, so in theory a 24 hour-ish fast window.

will try to resist today :)

good luck to all those fasting with me today. shelley xx
Hi all, I wasn't going to fast today as it's TOTM and I feel like cr@p, but it's now 2:55pm and I've only had coffee, so looks like I'm fasting after all. Salad later with a cheese and chive omelet. Was going to go for a walk but feel like having a lazy day and early night. I'm really considering joining @Hazelnut20 for couple of weeks. I'm finding fasting easy at the moment and think I could handle the BSD for at least a few weeks. Not sure I could manage 8 weeks though. We'll see.
Good look today Wednesday fasters :clover: :clover: :clover:
Ooh @justdee...company would be very nice! We could even start a thread of our own...

I do read the BSD forum from time to time, but its layout is absolutely terrible, very confused & not at all like this lovely one, so I haven't bothered joining it! It would be great to share the everyday stuff with a kindred spirit...even for a few weeks!

I'm sure everybody does it their own way, but here's how I'm tackling the 8 week Blood Sugar Diet:-

16:8 everyday. I don't eat til after noon. Then I have some Onken full fat (though still not all that fatty it seems) natural bio yoghurt (116g - have stuck at that amount for some strange reason - maybe to make life simple) with crushed strawberries added. For some reason, the amount of strawberries I add varies everyday from 100+g to nearly 200g....just realised that's not very clever because of the carb count! Though it is delicious!

Drinking lots of fluids, sadly not majoring on water because I am a bit of a teapot. When in doubt, put the kettle on...is my motto!

Early evening, I roast some broccoli, red peppers, mushrooms and red onion with a drizzle of olive oil and some chopped garlic. Have varied it with cauliflower, courgettes etc - any low GI veg (so no parsnips!) Have to say, I have quite a plateful of veg - to give my stomach something to work on. With it, I have either chicken, salmon, turkey, mackerel, or for a treat, pork chops or escalopes or belly.

If I'm absolutely mad with hunger between these two meals, I'll have about 20g of Brazil nuts - but this is rare.

It's only me who has made the "diet" restrictive. Unfortunately, I absolutely detest eggs - so no chance of omelettes or scrambled eggs for me! I hear eggs are brilliant....but just cannot stomach them. I see you eat them, so that's good!

At the moment, which is the middle of Week 4, it suits me not to have to think too hard about the food as I am too busy to stress about it! I thoroughly enjoy both meals everyday....because food is a bit of a luxury when you're trying to lose weight this way. Obviously, this method wouldn't suit everyone. There are loads of things I could be making - soups for example, but I haven't got the time or the inclination right now. I've always struggled with comfort eating, so I suppose the current truth is that I am enjoying the simplicity of what I'm eating...a kind of no-brainer, which leaves more time to do the things I need to do.

Well, I need to go and roast my veg - so I'll sign off for now. Hope Wednesday's fast is going well for you and the rest of the Wonderful Wednesdayers! Be kind to yourself today xx
Oh @Hazelnut20 you really are tempting me. I'll see how I feel at the end of the week, maybe start the BSD on Sunday. If I tell myself it's only for a few weeks it will seem more do-able for me. 800cals a day seems really do-able when you're used to doing 500cal fast. Just don't think I could keep it going for much longer than a few weeks with it being low carb. I had a read of MM page about BSD yesterday and it says it's better to get the weight off fast, I like the sound of that. Your meal plan sounds great. If you do start a thread about BSD you should put most of that post as the first post as you've explained it really well.
Anyway, time to make dinner already, yum. Hope everyone is having an easy fast :)
@Hazelnut20 how interesting. I've never heard of the bsd so it was nice to hear what you do. I quickly googled it and found mm website so am gonna have a read later when I have a bit more time. I agree that it would be great if you made a post about it with what you wrote here. Are you doing it because of diabetes? Anyways, off for my morning jog. Will have a good search on here this afternoon to find more xxx
Hello @johns!

I haven't got diabetes...though I fear I was headed in that direction if I didn't get a grip. My eating was out of control & very carb loaded. I have full faith in 5:2 as I have been very successful with it in the past, but decided to do the BSD to seriously kick-start the weightloss. Main reason was that I didn't want to spend the whole of the summer (if we get one, that is!) lumbering around feeling as gross as I was before I started on May 9th. Also, I needed to shock myself off all the naughty food....& the only way I could see that happening was if it was totally off limits every day of the week...
