I could offer many excuses, but what is the point? Today I am excited to be fasting again. I was on 5:2 for some time and dropped 23kgs...it was just fabulous, so I ask myself why did I stop, and reverse my weight loss? Looking forward is the only way, and I am genuinely excited. Just returning here has given me a buzz, and that feels good, because I know that I lost some control, and now feel I have it back. BTW. I have not regained all of that weight, but only some.
So what next? Not wanting to wish my life away, but I do look forward to a weigh in next week.

Take care all, and wishing you a great 2016.
Good to have you back! All the very best with your fast @harrij19

cheers
Well, you are not alone! I am in the same boat. Just wish I had worked harder on maintaining the weight loss. Good luck, and stay positive.

Welcome back @harrij19. Seems like a 'fasting today' topic, so I am reporting to indicate that I am in as well, for my first fast of 2016. Some weight from the feastingseason has to be removed...
Yes it is great to be back I too stopped late last year and regained 10 lbs, after loosing 35lbs on the 5:2. I had my first, fast day yesterday and it seemed very easy, in fact fill full this morning after a small breakfast. I intend to try and make this a way of life and came to the conclusion last year that the key to success is to plan the food on your fast day and not leave it to chance or others understanding what you need. Good luck all returners.

Welcome to the forums, @Kebe!

Many of us have had that experience of regaining some of the weight when we stop. Welcome back!!
Welcome back! I'm a newbie here, but wanted to chime in and say I'm fasting today as well. I'm in my third week of fasting, currently doing ADF and seem to have found my rhythm. Losing slowly, but consistently.

Happy fasting everyone!

I was with you today, first full one for a long while. Hubby joined me too. Good luck with the evening rumbles everybody. May your tummies be flatter in the morning
Hi, me too. I stopped in November 14 - I can't remember why but I think work just got really busy. Anyway over Christmas I felt like a lump and decided enough is enough. Today was really easy............so why did I stop. My routine is a cup a soup at 1ish, another approx 4.30 and M&S 300 meal at 7ish. Lots of hot water and bed at 9ish.

We're on a big family holiday in May and I'm determined to have lost at least 14llbs lighter.

I find this forum to be really useful on fast days.

Good luck.
Oh HarriJ your post could have been written by me! I was doing so well and slipped back into bad habits, haven't posted on here since 2013 or 5:2'd, but I know it works. So Jan 1st I started again, gave up booze and went on my first fast day. Not a New Years resolution, just a new year. Good luck to you, my mantras are:
'I will not drink today' (for the wine witch) and 'It works if you work it - so work it you're worth it' (for the fasting.). Best of luck
Welcome back!

I fasted today. The problem is that on my fast days I can't seem to keep to 500 calories anymore, not since Christmas. Always around this time (5pm) my body tells me it wants more, and I end up consuming closer to 1000 calories.

Although to be honest, I was considering sticking to this (I do alternate day fasting anyway, and eat on average 1500 calories on those days) for the duration of my weight loss. IIRC Varady recommended consuming 1000 calories if one wishes to keep up ADF for life (which I do) without losing weight. As I have just a couple of pounds to go, I think ADF just might be too much for me currently and I'd rather keep fasting every other day and eat more on those days than switch to say 5:2 (just my preference).

Rambling, sorry :p. I am just figured out my body's pretty good at telling me what it needs lol.
Thank you to all of the welcome responses. So very kind of you all.

All the best from Switzerland
Well done on your return :like: good luck x

I'm the same i stopped for no other reason than i felt good and thought i'd be able to control my weight. I'd just lose it if i gained a pound or two
The out come is that i am back to square one because those few pounds turned into a few stone!
I feel determined but i know there is a long road ahead, maybe i've learned my lesson, time will tell.
