Just checking in. All has gone well. As usual I am very tired on low cal day, 19,000 steps walked, so off to bed to read shortly. I plan to go again Saturday, then Tuesday and Thursday which hopefully will set me back into good habits.

Hey everyone,

Today is my 4th fast day. I find I prefer to save all my calories until my evening meal so I can have a big portion! So i'm slightly hungry now but it's only because work is super quiet so i'm bored! Been drinking lots of water and herbal teas. Just had a milky coffee because it makes me feel fuller! Tonight i'm cooking me and the boyf aubergine and egg curry with cauliflower rice. It comes in at around 511 calories so that'll do. I honestly can't wait I ruddy love egg curry! I thought id add aubergine as it soaks up flavours well, is low cal and will bulk up the meal! I'll report back in tonight letting you know how I got on!.

Meee, this is me 2nd fasting day....woke up this morning not hungry at all...but with a massive headache.
So I skip the breakfast, just had my lunch, a big salad, with cucumbers, tomatoes, chicken. I couldn't finish it.
I feel thirsty all the time, and tired today.
Hope it's gone by better tomorrow.

Well... after the longest fall off the wagon ever (again) I'm back on it today.. similar to others, my trousers/pants are tight, and I'm not on good terms with the scales! Time to help my body and my health do what it does best, instead of sabotaging it! If I'm not back here tonight, reporting a completed fast, someone send that fish my way!!

My evening went pear shaped when the OH had a kind of 'turn', standing in the kitchen. It passed and then we had an argument because I wanted to call the ambulance and he forbade it. Then I rang a doctor friend, who was on the point of boarding a plane in Melbourne. We exchanged a few texts and she said 'ring the ambulance' so then I did. OH had to have a shower before they came! OMG. Now he has been admitted to a local hospital and I have been and returned home. It's all very scary. I had a goodish fast day. Soup at 3pm was good. Then I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms on toast at dinner time. So I think that cuts it. Now I feel like a hot sweet milky drink and I think I'll have it as it has been a difficult evening. The scary question is: will he ever get better? At the hospital they started talking about getting help for ME! I don't feel actually ready to accept that kind of help yet. Off to bed with a hot milk.

Ooh, @Sallyo, that sounds scary! Sure hope things work out...

I'm in today; I agree, I'd like to see others check in at the end of their day; often I come back on midnightish here and no one has posted since I did in the morning (western US...as far as I know, no one here from Hawaii or Alaska, so the U.S. west coasters are the "earliest" timers on the forum).

Had my coffee, going to make my pot o' green tea now...found a couple of promising peaches last night, may have that with ff greek yogurt later...though I have most of my calories at din din, after 9pm. I agree that late afternoon seems to be the most challenging; not only hungry, but the natural dip in energy. That's usually when I have my broth; don't know what I'd do without it!

Oh, and today is my last day of my self-imposed six weeks sans alcohol...weigh in tomorrow!

I think that it's a great idea to report back at the end of a fast day - especially if it hasn't gone as well as you hoped. :frown: Just writing it down might encourage you to spot where it went wrong and give you ideas on how to do it better the next time! :victory: It's important to report successes too - sometimes we have to celebrate our success in very small increments, so make the most of it when a day goes well!

@Sallyo, what a trouper to keep fasting after a day like you had! I hope your husband is out of hospital very soon. Hugs coming you way! :hugleft: :hugright:

@Soophie, waking up with a headache is not good, especially if this is unusual for you! That, combined with you feeling thirsty all the time, might suggest that you are not drinking enough fluids every day - not just fast days. When we are cutting our food intake we are also reducing our fluid intake because we get a surprising amount of fluid in the food we eat. We have to make up for that by drinking more than usual. You may also be cutting back sources of caffeine by reducing your usual amounts of tea/coffee/cola. This can also lead to headaches, as can being slightly deficient in salt. There is a lot of information about headaches on the forum. Sorry that I can't point you in the right direction but it I'm sure that someone will be able to. Hope your day went well, despite the rocky start! :clover:

@Wineoclock, you make sure that you enjoy every minute of your holiday!

I haven't been fasting today but, after the carbs that I've eaten for lunch, I better fit in a Friday fast tomorrow! Good luck for the rest of your day, everyone! Onwards and downward!

Fasted today, although it included a very very nice salad in town with tiny cubes of the best cheeses the place sold. Might have just crept over the limit but I think otherwise it went well. Also had my hair cut and coloured and feel SO much better! Bon weekend everyone.

@Sallyo many of us relate to the care you provide to OH. Do reach out to any further care you can gain. My Mum would not accept - seek help/advice and she has suffered as a result, we have too.
End of my fast day results: lots of sparkling water, one miso soup, lots of tea with a dash of milk and a few seafood with spinach, 5 strawberries. 500 or less? No idea! Feels good though. x

Thanks@Lizbean, @StowgateResident, @CandiceMarie,@ferretgal for your good wishes. i wasn't such a trouper as all that, StowgateR, as I had already finished fasting when OH took his 'turn' and I succumbed to full cream milk sweet hot chocolate for comfort at bed time. Forgivable. It was nearly midnight, so technically nearly Friday. And Lizbean, you are right to point out the need to accept help. I will certainly consider my need to do so. At this stage, I feel I am coping. But I may be in denial. It's not just a river in Egypt, I know that. This morning he is a lot happier and they have taken him off various drugs and it is conceivable that the whole event was a result of a mismatch of drugs. He has been on a heap since his last sojourn in hospital. HE has to stay in for the weekend and it's closer so not so difficult as it was last time. I am looking forward to the rest of the day at home by myself - a rare treat. Only I have to get busy working on clearing out various rooms ready for renovations which start on Monday. There are things I would rather do. I just have to take a few moments to come to terms with that, accept it and get on with it. Love to all. I feel so supported by loving friends, far and near.
