Fasting Saturday - 23rd Feb
23 Feb 2013, 07:28
Fasting today as couldn't do my usual Thursday last week ( just love the flexibility). So far have had a mug of black coffee as not hungry yet. Have settled into a pattern of porridge for breakfast and soup and toast for dinner. I just have water and black coffee the rest of the day. I have found this works best as I am more hungry having three meals. I love the way this can be adapted, it is not one size fits all. What has really amazed me is that tomorrow morning I will not be starving but will really enjoy my normal breakfast. One big thing I have learned from this regime is if I have a long day out I do not have to worry about finding food! Not that I am a Mac Donald's person but I used to become almost panicked thinking I must eat or I would feel wobbly!

I'm fasting today too! Would not usually do a Saturday and have done 2 fasts this week but i have a very busy day and evening planned so should find it fairly easy! I have also got a takeaway planned for tomorrow night so will not worry about the effects of that at all if i fast today!
Just going to have hot drinks and water until tea time! The moment food enters my mouth it switches on the munchies, so find that eating nothing until evening works for me!

I find it strange the way eating triggers the munchies. I have had it instilled in me to eat every two hours to keep my blood sugar level and really believed it yet I can fast without getting the shakes. The mind is a powerful thing!

I'm fasting today too - 3rd of the week (I aim for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). Just tea (splash of milk, counted), black coffee and fruit/herbal teas until this evening, then prawn and coconut curry with either rice or roasted cauliflower. It is cold and a bit frosty here today, so will burn some extra calories keeping warm whilst walking the dog later! Good luck to all Saturday fasters.

I suppose your blood sugar is stable if you're not eating and goes up and down once you start? I don't know, someone will tho!

I'm supposed to be fasting today but BiL is visiting later and I'm starting a new exercise routine next week, so it might be an idea to jig days around but I don't want to as I'm fairly set in my routine and haven't missed a fast day since I started on Dec 31.
