Fasting today - 24 February
24 Feb 2013, 00:19
Hi all, my second fast today and I've actually been looking forward to it. I'm going to try and keep busy though - have arranged to meet up with an old pal for a walk by the seaside.

I'm planning three small meals of tuna salad and some Marigold bouillon as well as lots of black coffee. Yesterday was my first feast day on 5:2 and I'm not sure if I ate too much - I had about 1600 kcals. Oh well I guess I'll have to see what happens with the scales...

Good luck to everyone fasting today!

Hello all and Esmerelda
I'm joining you today- my 16th fast this year.( Kick started again in the New Year but have been trying/dabbling /nearly managing to 5:2 since October)
Sunday is my usual day and I'm contemplating adding some proper exercise for the first time. When I started fasting I was totally wiped and incapable of doing anything , but now I am fine with it.
A seaside walk sounds lovely.
Good luck to all veteran and new fasters today

I'll be fitting my second one in today as I won't be able to fast for the next few days. I'm still in two minds whether to have breakfast or not but if I do it will be porridge made with water and a teaspoon of honey. Then later for tea is lentil, chickpea and chilli soup off the Good Food website.

I'm house sitting at the moment so it can get quite boring - the dogs will probably get three walks today!

8th Fast today.

Woke up early, and kept imagining what nice things I could have for breakfast and then remembered I am fasting!

Still it's only one day, and I have had two over 3000 calorie days!!!!

Scale day tomorrow too! 3rd Weigh in!

Good luck and happy fasting campers!

Hope it is going well for you all.
I went food shopping this morning which seemed like a bad idea on a low calorie "fast" day. Funnily enough I found myself looking longingly at the fancy salads rather than cake or choc (might have been because I had lots of cake and choc yesterday!).
Was nice to want healthy food not more junk. I have bought the posh salad to have with my one meal today as it is low cal.

Fasting today - lost count of where I'm up to but it's been since early January, so 6 weeks plus! Just a bowl of soup and a couple of hot drinks and I feel full, so not going too badly at all today.

Those weak feelings and headaches from the first couple of weeks have gone completely, so stick with it those of you who are in the early stages.

Chicken, roasted vegetables and a small amount of lemon cous cous to look forward to later.

Weight wise I'd been on for around a 10 pound weight loss overall when I weighed in mid week (I weigh in most days but usually only count Sunday's figure). Hopped on the scales this morning and my weight had jumped up by at least 6 pounds! I'm blaming the heavy chinese last night for making me retain water - so I'm ignoring the scales and just going with the fact my trousers are starting to hang off me, as an indicator of weight loss.

It'd be nice to see a 9 at the start of my weight but I'm not losing heart yet when I feel better and thinner.

I wasn't really planning a fast day today, but my husband was working this morning and I didn't have anything to eat.
As this is my 3rd fast this week I'm going to have a nice dinner with a few more calories than my 400, but much less than my daily 1600.
Enjoy your dinner all ye Sunday fasters.

I've been experimenting today. No breakfast but skimmed milk in tea and lots of water as usual, just had some cereal and I'm having some home-made soup a bit latter. I think I will stick with this pattern as it's by far easier. Just conditioned to eat breakfast I guess, but I do think cereal is important for me so I have it later in the day.

My 2nd fast day since Tuesday. Have had nothing since last night and don't feel hungry. Plane on homemade lentil and bacon soup for dinner along with some fresh fruit and an options for bed. Today is much easier than the first fast as I don't have the crippling headache that I had on my first fast day. Planning on Tuesday and Friday as Fasts 3 & 4.

I don't normally have breakfast but I decided to go with two poached eggs on a slice of wholemeal toast (with plenty of cayenne pepper, yum!) and felt I had 50% less hunger pangs than during my first fast, so that was positive. Had soup around 7pm and looked forward to it all day. Never thought I'd ever say that about soup!
