Fasting today?

Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.
Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.

I think I'm finding today hard because I let go of the reigns completely yesterday and had chips and chocolate and and and....

Really finding it hard not to give into the 'put it off for today and do it tomorrow mindset'!

I'm also at the 1 stone lost marker - I like to celebrate with food, commiserate with food and....well you get the point.

Give me strength!!!!!
Hang in there girl. I am fasting today too and am now having some grilled asparagus tips with grated Parmesan at only around 90 calories. I am sure you can find something that tastes good and can hold off the hunger pangs until tomorrow. Come on its only one day!
But if you put it off until tomorrow then tomorrow you'll have to fast. If you do it today then tomorrow you can eat. I do spend most of my fasts days thinking about what I will eat the next day so I'd rather just get each one over with.
Plus you'll really appreciate that sense of achievement come the end of the day.... that's what gets me through sometimes!
You should be celebrating your 1 stone loss! You'll have to think of something nice to do for yourself, I'm sure it will cheer you up.

Today I wasn't feeling it either, and my exercise failed to energize me like it usually does. But now I'm sitting here relaxing with a delicious cup of herb tea, and smelling a vanilla pod, which is one of my favorite scents, and it's turned my mood around completely.
I am not really feeling like doing it today either. I ended up having a 70 cal juice popsicle around 10am which doesn't prevent me from having a 500 cal day overall, but will make me have to be more careful this evening. For some reason that is really stressing me out. But I want to eat tomorrow (Friday!) so I am going to tough it out.
Well - I did get through it and feel so much better for it...Just need to work on the brain stamina...

Posting on here really helped. It is only one day, thanks Machasm, but it really drags when it's a reluctant one!
I don't think it helps that I call my fasting days 'famine days' Totally wrong mindset. I read somewhere else on here that someone calls them 'Healing days' mmm I like that better.

Keep at it everyone
I wasn't feeling it at all yesterday, either. I had a monumentally bad day and really wanted to reach for the wine and chocolate. Posting here helps tremendously. I love this forum! Go us! I think we both deserve a pat on the back for sticking at it on a day when we really didn't want to.
My last fasts were like that. I even went above 500 calories twice (but only by 20 or so). My favourite aunt is the hospital and the prognosis is not good and I just can't focus. It's not just fasting that I find difficult, I can't even do the most simple things like housework.
I suppose the fact that we are all on this forum proves that no matter what is going on in our personal lives we're all wanting the 5:2 way of life to work for us for both health and weight loss purposes. Thanks everyone for the encouraging and commiserating comments...

I have that Marvin Gaye song stuck in my head...'I can see clearly now Thursday has gone' I Wonder how Monday will be?
I gave up today. At least I've already fasted twice this week so I'm not beating myself up. It's the first time after 20 fasts so I guess I'm allowed one "failure" in twenty...
