Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.

Halfway through the day and I'm really very hungry and my head is thumping. I'm one of these people that snacks quite a bit throughout the day so this fasting is hitting me quite hard. I've been drinking lots of water and I've already cooked my meal for tonight (thick veg soup, Nom!) and I'm trying to use that as my focus, saying "just a few more hours and I can tuck into that bowl of yumminess....." but it's not helping too much!

Sorry for complaining! Just need a virtual hug or two I think, lol.
We are all with you HopefulHeart and it does get easier I promise. Have a bath, paint your nails, go for a walk, phone a friend,..... Just try and distract yourself for 15 minutes. Some people find a mug of bovril or a miso soup help get them through. Good luck, you can do this.
Thankyou for those ideas! I have been tempted by a vegetable Oxo cube, I love that as a drink on a regular day :D
Hi Hopeful. All that Pilchards said, distraction is the key. Read all the threads on here, that will fill the time up. It is a bit of mind over matter and it does get easier. Virtual hugs on the way.
I do great virtual hugs so here is one on it's way to you

As others have said, it does get easier, honest, trust me, I am a slim person (now)

Keep going and keep posting and yes, distraction is the big key!

Hi Hopeful... I find the mantra 'tomorrow I can have whatever I like' helps and as has already been said distraction works a charm! Good luck & sending you virtual hugs. Xx
Thankyou all! I'm currently creating a fasting day recipe book for myself, although I'm not sure whether that's a distraction or just making me think about food more, lol!
Don't forget to share some yummy recipes with the rest of us.
I started 5:2 by having lunch and dinner before I moved onto one main meal and now 36hr fasting, could you have a small portion of your dinner for lunch if you think that will help? If not, distraction is the key, I have always had the tidiest house on fast days! Hugs your way and good luck, remember if you still want it tomorrow you can have it!
Hi Hopeful. I was used to snacking so found the fasting hard to begin with but it truly does get easier. I find it best to save all my calories for dinner and to keep busy and distracted until then. Reading through this forum also gave me the willpower to keep going when I faltered.

Good luck
I've set myself up with a schedule of a small breakfast, small fruit/healthy snack at lunch and a reasonable sized tea. I discovered how essential breakfast is when my doctor demanded I start eating it and I lost 10kg within a week.....

I'm still going, haven't given in yet! I am craving a cheese and pickle sandwich....
