I didn't see anyone else posting for today so I hopefully haven't stepped on anyone's toes by starting today's thread.

I'm struggling today, for various reasons. I have had to bake some bread this morning as we had run out, now this should have been the job of one of my sons today as it was his rota day, but he's disappeared to town with his brother to do some shopping and visit their sister. That has also left me in the kitchen with freshly baked bread smells and tonight's dinner, pastry-less quiches baking away. The smell is heavenly and very hunger inducing.

Plus I have been in a lot of pain the last 3 days, I had to travel 50 miles each way for my MRI yesterday as well (travelling and me do not mix at the moment), so today all I want to do is comfort eat. Why can't comfort eating consist of a bowl of crudities or half a cucumber? Why is it that when I look in the cupboard and see biscuits, a packet of dried dates, or slice the bread for hubby, that is when the comfort eating kicks in?

I hope those who are fasting today have a good one.
Go on Julie you can do it!!! But no I'm not joining you, I had a ''mini*blowout'' yesterday after my blues came to surface and probably ate more carbs in one day since beeing on this WOL also not got socks on and my feet look+feel so much better!!! Mixed messages or what.
Sounds like you've got your hands full with the chores today hope you manage to resist the bread (personally can't stand the smell) but the quiche sounds delish may try that in week, I shall fast again 2/3 days , so I'm just being careful over weekend :clover: Good Luck
And thanks again :like: for yesterday  Sue
I'm with you Julie! I had planned to fast yesterday but decided to switch to a Saturday fast. It's funny but I find preparing food on fast days to be comforting in itself but the delicious smells of cooking are very difficult to resist. You can do it! Most of your day is done while mine is just starting. You can do it! :)
I'm in...a morning of revision with my friend for practical exams kept me distracted but now she's gone I'm struggling. Only just over 2 hours to go and I'll allow myself to have dinner. Hang on in there Julie!
Have been ADFing up until last Friday. Was going to change to 4:3 this week until the school I work at (TA) got the dreaded OFSTED phonecall during an exhausting, overheated sports day. Longer hours and pure, sweaty fear have meant I haven't even considered fasting until today. All over now, I'm a bit zombie-like and struggling to hold out 'til dinner so may have to have some 4 o' clock fruit.
I survived till dinner and still don't feel hungry even now (3 hours later), so I should hold out now till tomorrow sometime. I have my fingers crossed for another 1lb down which will push me into the 17 stone bracket.
:like: Good Luck with the 1lb it is fantastic to see the lower numbers come up + sets the motivation for the following week
Meant to say glad you've finally had the MRI couldn't have been pleasant but its over+donewith now. Good Luck Julie :clover: Sue
I took a soothing album in " Songs of Distant earth" by Mike Oldfield and didn't open my eyes once. I still hated it. I have come to the conclusion its not the fact that the top of the tube is only an inch or two from your nose, its that for us fatties, there quite literally is no room to move. Your arms are pressed tight to the side. I think also that being overweight you are thicker from front to back so your nose is closer to the roof because your larger than normal bum pushes you upward. It doesn't help that when its your neck you have to go all the way in, if its your knee, its just your legs that go in.
