What a lovely puss Wildmissus!
#wildmissus, we too have some of these in our pots but a different variety. What with them, the dog, toads and of course slugs and snails, it's a wonder anything grows in our garden.
Heucheras, drat, mine didn't survive the dig up and move and I have a shaded spot now that needs the colour. A trip to the garden centre will be in the offing, maybe his afternoon as an extra birthday present.
My Lobilia didn't survive, so a couple of new trays are sitting outside waiting another week to see how the weather goes for the next week or so. Plus I have a lovely old gent in the village who sells plants very cheaply, all the plants I have had from him are bouncing ahead of the commercial purchases I have.
I have busy lizzie and geraniums already in flower, the last of the tulips still going well (even though I transplanted them 3 weeks ago) and the last of the anemones are still in flower. My 'granny's bonnet' has just burst into flower, I really must get some contrast colour flowers as they all seem to be purple, some pink would be nice. The oriental poppy is looking very good with some very large flower buds just starting to split showing a touch of their brigh red, again it was transplanted only 3 weeks ago. The giant onions are starting to bud as well, there are a lot more than last year, it seems to have seeded well from last year.
All in all I'm very pleased with how the garden is responding after its major surgery only 3 weeks ago.

It's been raining here and I so need to be in the garden! I have foxgloves, hollyhocks and delphiniums waiting to go in the garden plus a few other herbaceous plants which are also waiting in their pot-bound containers. Unfortunately, I need to weed, dig and feed before I can plant anything and now I am running out of time before going away on Saturday. Help!
I just nipped out to deliver a card and found a bit of a snailfest going on on the drive
I have just been reading all the posts on here (it has taken quite some time!) and realised that I posted on page 1 and nothing since! I did say that I just pointed these days but I hope to get to gardening when I retire in July.
However OH has been doing really well. We have tomatoes, chilli's,in the greenhouse. Carrots and Brussels outside, loads of strawberry plants (although some are runners so not sure if they will produce fruit) Raspberries are coming along well too.
Flowers include begonias, both trailing and bedding, geraniums, dahlias, fuchsias (Overwintered) and several others in pots that are coming to life. The greenhouse is consequently packed out and plants are being brought out and taken in daily until the frosts are less likely to occur, usually end of May. The wild garlic, which is almost impossible to get rid of, is in the last stages of bloom, the wallflowers too. The acers seem to be doing really well this year too.
OH has mown the lawn and edged round the patio and paths so all is looking very good. I will try and take a photo and post

Bump for @Madcatlady
For a lot of reasons I had let my 3 large veggie garden bed go to pot, more weeds than veggies.
Had some seedlings to plant just about expiring and finally yesterday I took to the garden with gusto and I am now in gardeners heaven as I have spent 8 hours over the weekend working hard in my herb and veggie beds weeding, planting cutting back, pulling out, tidying up, potting mulching and watering. It is looking so good I am chuffed.
Must have been a year since I have really given my veggie beds the attention they need. My next goal is being on top of compost making and soil renovation. Have the next 2 months odd jobs listed
Aren't gardens generous as I still have many herbs I can pick to use in my cooking along with my citrus trees. Mind you I can hardly walk and am in pain, but well worth it

Just wanted to share another poppy (first flower on new plant) - glad I took the pic when I did as we had torrential rain afterwards which rather spoilt it!!
fab and busy day in the garden, clearing out the greenhouse and polytunnel. Hubs has cleared the shed and we've done 3 trips to the tip.
We have runner and borlotti beans, cucumber, chillies, round courgettes, tomatoes, spring onions, lettuce and herbs. No Tarragon seed in the garden centre though.
We're having a barbe tonight (there's a surprise!) and I've made a herb and wild garlic pesto with the last of our wild garlic.

The first Oriental Poppy flower bloomed overnight and its surprised me by being salmon pink, not red. Their sheer size always shocks me too. The Giant Onions have burst into flower as well and some of the Alysum is starting to flower as well. The lupins are pink, the first two flower heads are a bit shorter than normal, which could be because of the transplant shock, but the ones still forming are looking to be normal height.
My second lot of garlic, planted direct into the bed is half the height of the plants that were started off indoor at least a month prior, I only have 2 surviving lettuce plants so will get some more tomorrow.
i am rather proud of the way the garden is coming together with minimal loss after all the moving around.

Saw some lovely planting combinations at Hampton Court Gardens with @carorees today. It's difficult not to want to go back and redo the whole garden. Lovely alliums, chives, irises, dicentra, ferns, and especially wisteria. Different leaf textures were interesting. And we both wanted the natural staking and plant supports.
@Pennyforthem - no need for mange tout seedlings - Caro bringing plenty, she tells me!

My climbing roses around the front door ( yes, really) have finally taken off, lots of white and yellow roses this year. Am very much a novice gardener but love it when things work. Am also working on an overgrown veggie patch and am slowly winning. Currently fencing off the duck pond to allow the dogs to use the back. This means I can develop our front garden. It is fenced off from the Gites and I really want a traditional cottage garden. It will take time but being retired I can spare that!
Lilly Beetles!!! Grrrr
That's all
