Congratulations!! greenhouses are so much fun and depending on what you want to grow, I don't think you are that late for seeds. I planted my tomatoes, chilies and cucumbers a couple of weeks ago and they are up and running. Need to get some mulch tomorrow and start replanting them But - since I live in Sweden and we still have cold nights, I do keep them indoors.

On a rare sunny day, yes!
@carieoates not too late for seeds, I've only just put my runner beans and tomato seeds in. Courgettes too. Courgettes make fabulous soup; my family's favourite and very quick and easy to make:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 medium onion chopped
900g sliced courgettes
1tsp dried oregano
600ml veg stock
115g dolcelatte rind removed diced (I just used grated cheddar)
300ml single cream (I use milk)
Cook onion in oil and butter, add courgettes and oregano with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 mins on medium heat, stirring frequently. Add stock, bring to the boil. Lower heat, half cover and simmer for 30 minutes. You can freeze it at this point. Or liquidise or blend until smooth, then add milk/cream and cheese. Heat gently until cheese melts.
Wonderful soup which is always very popular.

Thanks @Loulou51 for the seed info and the recipe. I love courgettes, raw in salad, grated in sauces as "veg by stealth" thinly sliced as pasta, sauted in butter with leeks. Mmmmmm what a great vegetable. Never stuffed one yet, last year I was given some round ones as small plants they were really nice looking.
My latest blog about my surgery and my patio landscaping escaped with all the pictures I've been promising.

Discovered yesterday that my lilies (which are in pots) which I put in the greenhouse for winter have started growing - and the bloomin' fly have found them already!! So have liberally sprayed them today and given them some feed. Pulled some huge thistles out until the compost wheelie bin was full - will do more later in the week once it's been emptied.
I want to sprout seeds. Anyone do this already?
and if you do, do you have a fancy system(dont need another gadget for the cupboard) or jars with stockings?
I dont know where to start.
Am I right they are a superfood, they are not grains are they or seeds?
I do remember mung beans on toast with vegemite eons ago, yum. Not a huge fan of alfalfa, but know I will like others.
Thanks

Hi @zamale. Start with large seeds as they are easier, eg dried chick peas, lentils, mung beans. Soak overnight in water so they swell up. Rinse well. Put in a large jam jar and rinse out twice a day. That's it. They will sprout in two to three days.
@zamale,you might find this thread useful

Been out in the greenhouse. Broke another nail gardening and gel nails aren't mixing well at the moment.
Toms into grow bags, and put peppers into larger pots. Also put courgettes and cues into grow bags. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing but they are in and ready to grow grow grow, this year I'm going to leave them in the green house as I haven't had a good tomato crop for a couple of years now. I've also got some trailing toms which I though I might put into a large hanging basket.. Any thoughts warmly welcomed.
