Probably showing my ignorance here (yet again!), but having just bought my first smartphone and enjoying playing with my new toy I wondered if there is such a thing as a Fastday app for android?

On the contrary Cally, you are very well UP on technology by all accounts.
I did ask this question a while back, and the answer was no, and it's a shame in my opinion. Issues with privacy and the like.
Maybe a great idea for the future.

Thanks Carie, personally would use it often!x
I think there is a mobile version of the site but not certain.
Hi if you look near the bottom of the page, centred is Switch to Mobile Style, I came across it when I decided I preferred the regular (classic?, standard?) interface for my tablet.
Don't know if this will help @callyanna but my iPhone/iPad have a feature where you can 'bookmark' a web page to your home screen, thus creating an 'app' I don't know anything about Android but I'm sure there must be something similar. Anyway, I think you're doing great x @carieoates I'm sure you know this but have tagged you just in case
In fact...... Here you go. Instructions. Good luck

Yeah! got there eventually! many thanks @Wendy Darling very useful link too, will have a good look to see if there are any other tweaks I can use!
Brilliant. That was quick! You can have all your favourites on your home screen now
The mobile version only reformats (reduces) the web page to better fit the smaller screens of portable devices. (Either way it's still HTML.)
A specific application wouldn't necessarily improve privacy either unless it also implemented some form of public key encryption. (Even if it did, Google bots have frequent access, so it'd be exposed anyway.)
Best practice with any open forum is to recognize that everything is exposed for anyone to see now and forever into the future - and to act accordingly.

Wow @Wendy Darling you little darling, you've just improved my life. Thanks, and no I didn't realise that we could do that.
Awwww shucks, it was nothing I have one that takes me directly to the BBC Good Food. No messing.
At least now my phone is behaving itself now I actually have some charge in it!

Hi @callyanna, if you're looking for another android app, there's a 5:2 Diet Coach that sends you helpful messages & reminders on your fast days. It's very simple, but gets me through the tough spots on a fasting day.
Speaking of apps, I was so excited that My Fitness Pal will now sync with my fitbit. My steps show up on my MFP diary & auto adjusts calories, which I can choose to eat back or not (but never on a fast day) Now if only I were more faithful about my walking.....

Interestingly @MLCDz I did post about this over in the fitbit thread last week. But also your iPhone 5S will now count steps independently as well.
Hi Carolyn,
I have not been able to find the Fitbit tent lately. I don't have as much time for forum browsing as I used to. Thanks for the update re the iPhone.
