Yesterday I had a fastday while having a cold. I hesitated for a while, but then thought: if a body really goes into repair mode while fasting, then it might even be a good thing to do. Today I am still having a cold, but ofcourse can't compare my physical situation to if I wouldn't have fasted. Is there any science or experience on this?

Poor you, my only science is keep warm, keep sipping water, and at bedtime a hot toddy helps me nod off.

Will just talk about my experience as I have the flu for more than a week, fasting is easy when I am sick, I have no appetite and just want to drink a lot of water, coffee, tea, and a bit of orange juice. It doesn't help nor makes me feel weaker than usual, which is great, I have no cravings which makes things really easier
My OH & I are both in the throes of a cold & planning to fast today & hope the repair mode will help. We are rarely ill since starting 5:2ing so this cold is very unwelcome however hot drinks & keeping warm until supper is our plan after going shopping for a new mattress. I hope you will feel better soon Rasa as well as you Manderley
