Fasting with Medical Conditions

Hi,

Is it safe to keep to 5:2 if trying for a baby or undergoing fertility treatment?

Thanks
I'm not undergoing fertility treatment but I am convinced that the healthier your diet and lifestyle the more success you will have. May the odds be ever in your favor. Good Luck!! You will have to get some glamorous flats though?!
In his book MM is pretty adamant about this. To the question, "Can I fast if I am trying to get pregnant?" He wrote:
"Do not fast. Period."

They simply don't know what affect it may have on fertility. It does seem to affect hormones to some level. Plus you won't know you are pregnant for a couple weeks and fasting during pregnant is a double no-no.

My advice would be to try to adopt the healthiest diet and exercise regime you can maintain throughout a pregnancy. Talk to your fertility Dr. You wouldn't be able to do 5:2 during breastfeeding, at least for the first 6mo, if you opt for that.

You are obviously going through a lot to achieve this pregnancy. In the big scheme of things the time you spend now with TTC, pgc, and BF is small.
