Chia seeds are delicious! I absolutely love them. Sure, they're a trendy "wonder" food, but they make such a quick, easy, delicious dessert or breakfast.
For an amazing chocolate dessert, mix together:
1 cup coconut cream, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence, 2 Tablespoons cacao powder (or cocoa powder). Put in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
Lime and macadamia dessert? Same first 4 ingredients:
1 cup coconut cream, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
plus: 1/4 cup lime juice and some chopped macadamias.
You can also add fruit purees, use fruit juice instead of the coconut cream, use a different sweetener, etc etc.
So don't write them off as just a food fad, they really are delicious

unless you like eating birdseed
you can sprinkle them on stuff "as is"
Not birdseed but I'm known to munch various seeds, even the ones from the melons.
I sprinkle them on fruit salad, or green salads, like you would sesame or sunflower seeds too. And porridge on the rare occasion I have it.
