General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

Sorry if these have been asked before.

In 16/8 do you eat and drink all of your intake in 8 hours?
My other question is do you only do this on fast days?

Hi and welcome here. To answer your question why don't you have a good read of the older 5:2 + 8'hours + 16:8 thread. Go to it from the home page, it is down on the right hand corner. Lots of info there for you. make a cuppa and dig in.

Also good to get the info here about 5:2 under your belt if you are a newby. Fluids are important over the full day as for this way of eating you need to keep well hydrated, so drink your fluids throughout the day and night. Just eat in the 8 hour window say 12md to 8pm 16 hours no food and then 8 hours to eat unrestricted within reason. Some people do that every day as 16:8 and it is more of a maintenance way of life. There is a free book about the 8 hour diet on kindle. I believe a minimum of 16:8 x 3 days helps with weight loss.

You can cheat by having up to 40 calories outside the 8 hours. I started 16:8 4 days ago and I drink one coffee with milk in the morning but nothing else until lunch, when my 8 hours begin.

You can do it as often as you wish, some do it only on fast days, others on weekdays, I aim for either 6 or 7 days a week.

In 16/8 you can eat and drink all you want to, but only in the 8 hour period.

There is no relationship between 16:8 and 5:2. They are totally different ways of eating:
