2 month break....
29 Jul 2013, 10:11
Hello (again) everyone.
I drifted away from the 5:2 plan for about 6-8 weeks.
I had been feeling a bit despondent with the slow weight loss and rather than sticking it out like some here have done, I kinda threw the towel in.
Worse fool me, now I've put 6lbs back on .

Whilst doing 5:2 I always found the fast days easy.
It was the weekends that did the damage for me. Quite simply I eat too much junk.
And all the fasting in the world isn't going to help if I don't make improvements in this area.

I read with great interest the threads on 16:8 and in fact I stuck to that window of eating on holidays and found it a breeze.
So I plan to combine it with 5:2,
I've also just taken up yoga again, don't know why I ever stopped (bit like 5:2)
The yoga has a brilliant feel good factor so with the right attitude this time round, I'm confident I can keep on the right track.

This forum continues to be as brilliant and informative as I remember it
And I look forward to getting to know everyone again.

See you on the boards, as they say

Hi Emerald welcome back, I do 5:2 + 16/8 x4 and 1 free day a week

Rather a few others do 16:8.

For me the 16:8 is a framework of restriction time wise and the stretch to lunchtime is a bit arduous some days but I am not expecting a picnic

Wishing you all the best this time around

Welcome back!!!

Even though I'm not losing loads of weight, it's the fear of gaining it back rather quickly that's keeping me going. It's hard to be well-behaved, stick to the plan and not get the same results some others get.

I'm really thinking that I just need to move more. I walked and walked and walked and walked while on holiday - I just don't walk like that here! And I ate and I ate and I ate and I ate - and only gained 1 pound.

Hi Emerald,

So nice to see you back and I'm glad that 16/8 is working well for you, I find it so simple so lets hope it continues. Keep us posted with how things work out for you,

Hi Traceknits. I walk a lot myself. We've always had dogs so I've always walked.
Think my body is probably immune to it by now.
I'm hoping to add swimming to my fitness regime in September when kids go back to school.

Ballerina. I really enjoyed your posts on 16:8 ( and other musings)
They were informative and entertaining, a great combination.

Hiya and welcome back!
I do my own version, 3:2:2 (3 sensible, 2 fast and 2 dukan's attack days). Find what suits YOU and get those kilos outta there!
