Congratulations @ballerina. Your success and experiences are inspiring, thank you for sharing. I so want to be able to say I have renewed energy and health. That would be as good as reaching my goal weight. :)

thank you so much for sharing your story, funny and insightful! I'm going to share with my daughter, who like you was always thin until a couple of years ago and developed that apple dumplin'. exercise is difficult because of M.E. , and weight loss has been slow, but her waist is shrinking! she will be thrilled to hear your story. thanks again. Thanks for reposting this for those of us who are newer here. You certainly have a delightful sense of humor!

Your story is especially encouraging to me because you have been able to maintain your original loss over the next year. In my observation, weight loss is a lot easier for many people than keeping the weight off once they meet goal. So your story is doubly inspiring.

And as another apple I'm thrilled to think it might be possible to get some of the tummy fat to go away.

wish I had read this before my 1,700 calorie breakfast (sigh). I was getting discouraged and just ate whatever I wanted, then tracked it in MFP. I'm sure I won't want anything else today, and I'm still not over my TDEE, but I'm not uncomfortably full either :(
I shall use your piece to reframe my thinking and get myself back on track. You have reminded me that it's a long, slow train to China and if I just keep doing it, it'll work. I'm getting tired of tracking the calories, but as seen by this morning, if I don't, I'll gain everything back I lost. Too hard won, that, so it's back on fast tomorrow.
Thanks for the reminder, inspiration and pioneering spirit.

Respect to you ballerina 2 years is amazing most people embark on a diet and only last days/weeks sometimes months  but to change your way of eating for 2 years and continuing as you are is real success :victory: you are indeed an inspiration.

Respect @Ballerina!

I wasn't around on the forum a year ago (wish I was!), so haven't seen your original post. Sooo pleased to have read this one as it is so very inspirational.

Many of us yo-yo-ers worry about what will happen once we reach target...so it is really lovely to read of your ongoing success!

Really enjoy your posts.....many thanks x

Thank you so much, Ballerina! I'm going to preserve your post forever and read it periodically, not just because it is inspiring (although it is), but because I love to read anything you write! I'm a little over a year now and, at times, feel a bit discouraged that I am not dropping (effortlessly and expeditiously) the few odd pounds that I would love to see the backside of as well as the additional inch or so off the waist. :?: You help me to remember that it is early days yet, in the scheme of things, and even though there are wrinkles :frown: , some delightful possibilities still await! :clover:

Thanks, @Ballerina! I have reached my goal, waist is less than half my height, but... it's a little pot still! So good to know that change is still possible. Thanks also for all your many many posts - they are truly awesome, many side-slitting, and just plain old fun! Take Care.
