5:2 and Iron Deficiency
02 Feb 2014, 23:17
Hello everybody

I have just completed a round of blood tests and all was good, except for the first time in over 30 years, I am iron deficient.

Does anyone else have this, I was just wondering if it has anything to do with Fasting? I told my doctor I did Fasting, he didn't seem to think so.

I am now on iron supplements and increasing my already ample eating of Greens other such iron-enriched foods.

Any advice would be most welcomed.

much appreciated.
cheers Maggie

Was your B12 lower than normal too?
Have you cut down on your vitamin C, eg. your fruit a lot, as the lack of Vitamin C will have a knock on effect with your iron absorbsion.
