Advice please for a newbie
03 Feb 2014, 13:23
Hi, i started on the 5.2 journey on 21st january so please excuse me if my question has been asked and answered many time before. I have a week off work next week and am spening it at home with hubby - when we have a staycation, we still like to make it feel like a holiday so have meals out, takeaways and drink quite a bit of wine so I know that I shall not have any fast days next week (I can plan them but the honest truth is I will not stick to them on holiday). So here is where my question comes in - does anyone fast 3 days a week the week prior to a holiday and then 3 days again the week after their holiday and does it compensate (as long as i don't go over the top on my week off)? It would be really nice to hear from anyone who has done this and to see if it worked or not? Hope you are all having a great day x

oh yes! 4:3 or ADF before , don't get on the scales and 4:3 or ADF after a break. And I don't weigh for a month- seriously! Then again, I only weigh monthly anyway.
There's a thread somewhere about strategies for holidays and how to cope with Chrismas and Thanksgiving- sorry , I'm useless at doing links but a wee search using the box up in the left will surely pull it up.
You could maybe also think about 16:8 on your wee holiday- seems to work wuite nicely for many. This WOE doesn't have to be all or nothing. That's the beauty of it :)
Have a great holiday and let us know how you get on

 Hi @WestLondonChickthe simple answer is yes because for me and many members do 4:3 also if you can when on your hold include a couple of 16:8 days that may limit the damage.
Basically life is for living so enjoy you holiday and then repair the damage on your return with 3 x 500 calorie
"proper" fasts.

Yes yes yes..you must make your staycation fun, just as a vacation wd be! Can often be even better!
Just take the advice here or make your own plan of action.
Main thing is A) youve got to enjoy life and B) this WOL is very flexible, its for the long haul..make it work to suit you..long as you get straight back on your hoss after the staycation x
