General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

Hello fasting community,

This is my first post as I am fairly brand new to this whole lifestyle. I am eager and excited. Finally, a way of eating that totally fits my personality. When conventional dieting (calorie counting), I rarely make it more than a day before falling off the wagon so to speak. Now, I can legitimately do that! ;)

Anyways, I have been stuck at 113.5 lbs range forever. I recognize that is very small - I am only looking to lose a few pounds and maintain but I never buckle down long enough to see any difference, it's just so easy to maintain rather than put in the time as being at a low weight means a loooong wait to see a permanent difference.

Just wondering if there is anyone else on here who is a short and small to buddy up or provide some inspiration.

Good to be here! Happy Fasting :) (I am fasting today)
Welcome to the forum @Ccc. I am afraid that at 5' 4" I do not qualify, but we do have some petite members and hopefully they will be along soon. Good luck with shedding your few pounds! As you do not have much to lose, be prepared to hang on in there until they go, often heavy people have a more spectacular rate of loss.
Hi @CCC I sort of qualify as I am only 5ft1.5 but currently 135 pounds looking to get down to around 118 no further as I get sticky out bones in strange places any lower than that
Also I shall be 44 next week and don't want to end up looking too haggard in my face but I can share the struggles of trying to shift weight when you are small...also the fact that every pound you gain looks like 5 when you lacking in leg length
Welcome @CCC i am only 5.2 and a half with stumps for legs and as wide as i' m tall. Havent been 113 lbs since in my 20s.So i wdnt be a good buddy but am sure someone will be along soon x we are a very friendly helpful bunch who love having a laugh and a moan or rant now and again! its great that youre eager and excited, think you' ll enjoy it here x
@redrobin (sorry to hijack yr thread CCC ) - any news on poss redundancy ?
@Candicemaraie I've been told off the record I am going to be ok but its a double edged sword as my team which was once 12 will be down to 2 of us by the end of the month and the work hasn't got any less  but I keep telling myself any job is better than no job !

I feel for you, I have stumps for legs as well and would only be under 110 pounds if someone cut them off

It was a photo that caused me to shout " Oh *** I'm square !!!" that made me embark on this WOE in the first place :rotfl:
Hello @redrobinmy fellow stumpy! i did a quiz on here.."find out your shape! "
Turned out i am spoonshaped ..OR bell shaped...are those shapes even humanly possible? I' ll stick to square thank you very much!
re yr job..Glad youve still got one..The thing is, with the best will in the world, you can only do what you can do in your working hours,so they really can't expect any more from you than that..they need to do the math! Two can't do the work of twelve, simples! X
Hi, @CCC. I am the shortest forum member, and the second lightest one, so I guess I'm your woman!
In 2013 I lost about 20 pounds. We really small people can't eat much if we want to get/stay slim. But I think the thing to keep in mind is that we also don't need to eat much. My TDEE is 1400 and many forum members' are even lower, perhaps 1300. But that's enough to sustain us. Once you get your head around that, it becomes easier. And I'm much less likely to overeat since starting 5:2. It'll do that for you. Restaurant meals can be challenging (especially here in the US, I believe). Most of them are large enough to provide my entire daily calorie allowance. Sometimes I share with hubs. Or just take half - or more - home with me.
Here is my "delighted" post:

Hang in there and feel free to ask questions. There are a lot of answers here!
Hey! I am so sorry for not replying sooner. I've got a one year old I chase around all day, weekends are busy because DH is finally around and trying to familiarize myself how to navigate this site = slow. I actually abandoned my fast the other day but after reading all your responses I am absolutely wanting to give it another go! Thank you!
Would love to be your buddy.i am short and weigh 110 but would love to weigh 100 which us what I used to weigh.
I did 5/2 last year and managed to lose about three kilos but have re gained and am trying again.
But am finding it very hard as the weight doesn't move ...I think it's probably due to the fact that I am short and middle aged and have dieted all my life.
Hi @ccc you might find the really short people tent in the Fastonbury Glamping Grounds of interest and you won't even have to duck as you enter
It's so not fair that the vertically challenged have to eat less is it?
@CCC, we didn't frighten you off, I hope?!
