We aren't going out but my husband is cooking (that's a first)! He is making a beef stroganoff  I love it.
But I have refused a lemon cheesecake  I think I may have lost the plot
Anyone else indulging today?
I am too. My husband is also cooking - must be catching! Although how it took him 4 hours to make a satay sauce is beyond me. We are having chicken satay, steamed fish with lentils and green beans, and a chocolate almond pudding (made by me). Bit of a blow out really but looking forward to a meal I haven't had to plan and cook. Tomorrow we have family here so another big meal. On the positive side I am getting much better at portion control and stopping when I'm full. It will be good to be back on the fasting wagon on Monday.

Happy Valentines to all.
Glad Hubby is cooking,Jan. Enjoy! I wdnt pass up the dessert if i were you,if its not a fasting day. Just a little squidgeon to celebrate that stone off :like:
We don't celebrate Valentines partly coz we are old grumps, and partly coz it's Beau's birthday two days later,so we wait til then.
I' m fasting today instead of Monday as will be out for bday lunch and bday cake ! X X
Sounds lovely @esta my hubby is still at work so goodness knows when I'll be eating
@candicemarie I don't think I could just eat a squidgeon  I'll have a glass or two of rose instead
If i had lost a bit of weight this week I would have had some, but I'm hoping to lose a little at the next weigh in.
Enjoy yr wine jan x clink clink!
It so often happens that a disappointing week is followed by a more encouraging step on the scales,so don'tbe too downhearted xx
Yes. Sat night is takeaway night in our house. What with birthday meal out weds it's been a naughty one that's for sure,
Enjoy everyone.
We don't do valentines but we are going out tomorrow lunchtime with my grandparents.
How lovely husbands cooking a meal for you.
We are doing it the easy way with two Valentines meals bought from M & S & Waitrose  We have already indulged in white wine & will have paella followed by cheesecake & tomorrow Coquille St Jacques, steak & Filo Apple Tarts plus chocolates. But not all at once
Enjoy your meals!
OH made bread and we all made bits for a lovely meal.

My facebook has turned into a wild food (and pet) blog

Occasionally I rant about dieting with 5:2
Not me, I'm on my lonesome. Boo hoo.... So consoling myself with chocolate.
Valentine day is a significant day for us: it was our first proper date. So I tried to book us in to a posh restaurant in Devonport, but they were all booked up. So then I went to great expense and bought rib eye steaks, OH's favourite which we never have as I normally can't afford them. Then we had a huge row in the morning when he criticised my driving once too often and we had a very cold afternoon! Then I made a salad with beetroot, roasted walnuts and blue cheese and gorgeous sweet potato and potato crisps, cut fine and baked in the oven. And the rib eye. Neither of us could eat even a quarter of the steak! OH is feeling sick and has lost his appetite. Then we had a walnut and almond crumb tart with a filling of ricotta and chocolate. It was all a disaster. The only thing i can say about it, is that I tried and he appreciated my efforts. Thank goodness that day is over! It was the worst Valentine's Day we've ever had. Also he forgot, but I don't mind that, as he is sick. I just want him to stop criticising my driving!
Oh dear @Sallyo that sounds like quite a disaster :(

OH cooked for us last night (as with many others) partly because I'm still no-handed, but mainly because he's a MUCH better cook than I and he enjoys it.

Spicemen cheddary cod with butter rice, delicious. No starter or desert as we don't genrally partake, we like all of our efforts/calories/appetite to go into a fab main course.
