Sorry! Your phrasing sounded like you were stating that this is true for everyone.
But I do have to wonder if you have ever had a chance to check your blood sugar when you were experiencing hunger of that sort. The tests that doctors do are woefully useless for detecting early forms of dysfunctional blood sugar, most notably the reactive hypoglycemia that occurs decades before people are diagnosed with diabetes.
It's my belief that this undiagnosed hypoglycemia drives the hunger that causes so many people to become obese by the time they are diagnosed with pre-diabetes or diabetes. I'm not at all convinced that the obesity causes the diabetes, as there is some solid research showing that slim people with diabetic relatives already have abnormal blood sugars, just not abnormal enough to show up on the crude lab tests they use for screening.
