Is anyone incorporating oat bran into their recipes. Was thinking I would like some tested recipes and ideas where and when to add in my food. Thanks

No.
It has soluble fibre which may have some influence on lowering cholesterol.
The fibre content isn't high and the carbohydrate content isn't low, so I see no reason why it should aid in fat loss. The effect it had on my blood glucose suggested it may oppose fat loss.

The Dukan Diet actually uses oat bran to make galletts (sp?) sort of like a crepe or pancake. You can make them sweet or savory. Recipe is on the intranet along with quite a few others that use oat bran. The are actually quite good, it just isn't real easy for me to buy GF oat bran. And with only 5 breakfasts a week, I struggle fitting in everything I want now:)
Only few days back I looked up psyllium husk and they reported it 4 times better in benefits to oat bran, can't remember where.
It works a treat for me in feeling full and getting things moving.
I'll go the psyllium husk.

Thanks for your replies. I will give some of your recipes a go Izzy, picked the traditional oatcakes and possibly will put some in next loaf of bread I bake, as making bread a rarity now and a loaf lasts me yonks as I slice loaf and freeze and have about a slice a week. My bread worries my OH so I get to eat it all myself. Ha ha. Also will try pancakes. My interest was inspired by TML's Dukan Attack so thought I would use up the purchased item and see if any shift in the plateau
I don't use oat bran. But, I use milled flax seed in a very similar manner. It has the fiber and the healthy Omega 3 oils. 2T (13g) has 4 carbs, 4 fiber, and 3 protein. O g net carbs if you deduct them, as I do. I have added this to pretty much any type of recipe you can imagine on both fast and feast days...ground meats, meatloaf, muffins, brownies, pizza crust, soups, chili, pasta or rice dishes.
ETA: Linda, mine says Gluten Free on the box. Hodgson Mill brand. It is the only brand I have ever seen locally.
