I'm always on the look out for studies on the health benefits of IF, even though it is still early days. Dr. Bojan has a study here of both animals and humans. http://www.lift-heavy.com/intermittent-fasting/

I'm not sure his conclusions are any different from what we already know but in one of the animal studies he found some conflicting data between elevated IGF-1 on certain types of fasts which I thought quite interesting.

@madcatlady. As I said, nothing new here for us. The study compares studies with rodents and humans and concludes that whilst there are some interesting findings in rodents, there are not enough studies around on humans to know for sure. Eg in rodents, they can seen positive effects such as weight loss, heart health, glucose regulation, brain health and lower cancer risk - and in turn increased life span.
However in human tests, because the trials are low quality, there is conflicting data. So it really one of those reads if you have the time and really like digging into the details.
