Fasting with an upset stomach
08 Mar 2014, 11:19
good idea or bad idea?
I'm feeling really awful this morning (not self inflicted unless it was the out of date yogurt I had for breakfast yesterday LOL)
Anyway I was planning to fast but I have stomach aches and not sure whether it would be best to eat something or not...
I am not a doctor but I think giving your poor tummy a rest isn't such a bad idea...just get lots of fluids.
I'm with Auriga on this one. If there are any nasties in your tum, better to flush them out with fluids rather than feed them and have them stay longer. Look on it as a bonus!
Thanks Auriga and Annie, I was thinking that. Having a nice cup of green tea now and that is feeling very soothing :-) xx
@JennyH10 , I have Crohn's disease and I always find fasting when my symptoms flare up even easier than usual as it helps give my digestive system a rest.
Stick with plain food ie soup as this will be easier for you to digest.

Hope your tummy feels better tomorrow
