We used to sing " i've Got A Lovely Bunch of Bumps...here they are all standing on my head!" to the tune of Ive Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts..
We were quite resilient kids i think! X
Ps @Ballerina Bal.. Just remembered something funny
We had a neighbour who was a commissionaire ..he used to come home from work in his uniform..all us kids thpught he was a ' bobby' ( policeman)
We used to knock to tell him things that were going on in the neighbourhood that we thought the police should know about..like " theres a cat got over the railway boards and he's on the line!"
I remember him roaring, " it can stay there til ruddy Doomsday for all i care" and slamming the door..he must have got so fed up with us,but why didnt he or anyone ever explain to us he WASNT a policeman..i guess the adults just didnt realise that to kids, both uniforms looked the same! X
