I love my slow progress!
26 Nov 2013, 02:03
I just posted in the Christmas club and that got me thinking that I've been losing weight really slowly compared to other diets I've tried. And the best part is that I don't feel disheartened about it! The reason is that I am taking it very easy: no rush, no competition, no stress about calories, no need to fit a specific outfit at a given date, etc. I am not even counting calories on my fast days, I just go through my day with no food, just coffee and water, and at dinner time I eat whatever I am fixing for the family but not eating the rice/pasta/potatoes, or just a little taste of it. I enjoy a square of dark chocolate sometimes as well.
And when I think about it, this could really be my WOE forever! I don't stress at all about what to eat or what not to eat, I feel so liberated, so free of guilt, so happy to finally, for the first time in a long time, enjoy food.
But I am like that, a very easy going person in many aspects of my life, so this WOE suits me really well.

How wonderful for you. I feel the same way. I don't care when I get to goal. I feel so much slimmer after losing 38 pounds. Just enjoying the ride. Its just wonderful. Just yesterday I was at a meeting and a colleague said ' how about willpower, don't you get tempted by all this ( yummy food) and I said 'no, not at all'. 52 has taught me patience in that I can have whatever I want tomorrow and GUILT FREE.Just fabulous.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I too am a slow loser and one thing I have found is that I am not looking gaunt nor am I going wrinkly around the eyes/face.

Congratulations on your progress Iztla and this way of life is marvellous isn't it!
However....I feel so very, very sorry for those people I see around me who haven't found this way of living yet: I'd love to tell them about it, but they'd probably think I was bonkers! Someone else on here said they had the urge to give out leaflets! I'm going to give my doctor a proper ear bashing when I see him.....maybe he can give out leaflets......hmmmmm. :geek:

Yes, I completely agree! I love this guilt free slow way of losing weight. I feel confident that I will continue to lose and I don't care if it takes me years. I too want to go up to fat people in the street and proselytise about 5:2! I'm in for the long term. I wonder how long it will take before more doctors get on board.

My doctor already points people towards 5:2, I think mainly because of me. He knows I have struggled to lose weight, even considered bariatric surgery at one point. But he has seen the ease with which I have lost my weight this time and is recommending it to other patients. Plus one of the receptionists is now on it as well.
