Yesterday was my fastiversary & what a difference a year makes According to my forum tracker I have lost 2 stone (28lbs) since joining & have reduced in size from UK size 18/20 tops & 20/22 trousers to UK size 14 tops & size 16 trousers.
But my weight loss story really started on 01/01/13 when I weighed myself after seeing a Christmas photo of myself & I was horrified. I then weighed 15 stone 12 lbs & embarked on yet another low fat calorie controlled diet with the online Rosemary Conley dieting club. At the end of January I was already hating the food deprivation & the prospect of having to do this for the next two years. Then I read the Radio Times supplement about The Fast Diet, found a recording of the Horizon TV programme & wondered if I could really fast? So the next day I did without any problem & then found this forum
Since then I have retained my joy of food but radically changed my view of it. I enjoy the empowerment of fasting & knowing that I am doing something good to my body But most importantly I now have a weapon in my weight loss toolkit that will enable me to keep going until I reach my goal weight. I am able to still enjoy going out to dinner, have a glass when I feel like it & I do not feel deprived!
I have learnt so much from everyone on this forum about how our physiology reacts to fasting, different types of food & without your inspirational stories & sharing your experiences I could not have kept going. This has truly become my WOL now but I have included 16:8 ing most days. I tried 4:3 throughout January in the hope of pepping my weight loss & I seem to have done the opposite! I am disappointed that I didn't manage to reach my fastiversary goal of losing a total of 3 stone but I do now weigh 13 stone 4 lbs which is rather better than 15stone 12lbs.
I am working towards reaching 9 stone 12 lbs & looking better for my sons wedding in September. However when I catch sight of myself in shop windows I think I already look more "normal" in weight & don't stand out as a large & fat person.
Thank you everyone on the forum for your advice & support & most importantly Moogie & everyone else in at the beginning who came up with the idea of creating this forum.
