Picking my TDEE activity level
27 Jan 2014, 12:37
Help please! I'm not sure if I am 'sedentary' or 'light exercise'

I've got a desk job so I sit on my bum 9-5, 5 days a week.

however I've got a horse and dog, so I will walk the dog in the morning, walk 10 minutes to work, then sit on my bum all day.

In the evening I will do at least 20 minutes walking by feeding the horse etc. and I ride probably 3 or 4 times a week (more in summer!)

That is everyday and then often on weekend I am out and about on my feet for a good few hours at a time, sometimes all day.

So whilst I am quite active every day, none of it raises my heart rate particularly or gets me out of breath, apart from riding sometimse, depending on what I am doing.

When I put weight on I was eating easily 2000 calories a day and I put on 10lbs in 4 months. I'm 10 stone, ish, at the moment and 5'4, trying to get down to just under 9 stone.
H Emily. I'd go for sedentary. I exercise most days and set at this level or I don't lose weight. Good luck :clover:
I think you are probably right

However, if I am honest, I am useless at sticking to my TDEE anyway haha, it goes out the window on normal days.
I put mine at sedentary and just hope that any walking and activity I do is just a bonus in the weight loss department. :)
