Reducing my carb intake kickstarted my weightloss when I hit the plateau last year there's loads of tips on the low carb tent all the unusual veg that I've never tried before and found them so tasty and filling especially for a fastday.

I'm on a fast day. I've got a ready meal for my tea (Chicken Tikka Biryani - really tasty) and will then have a coffee made with all milk later in the evening.

It seems to be normal to plateau every now & again. I've been at this over a year now with a few breaks for medical treatment & hols. The breaks kick start things again but I don't think you've been going long enough to have a break. Also I plateaued for a month once but you do lose weight eventually. It's a slow way of losing weight, which is a good thing.
Just looked at your stats! You've lost a lot quite quickly. You need to plateau!

Hi @mariondot40. Oh the frustration of it, but well done for sticking with this WoE, you won't regret it. And just think, if you hadn't been 5:2'ing the chances are that your weight would have gone up (especially over the festive season).

Edit: Wow! Nearly 10 kilos lost since November? Just WOW! You're doing enviably well. Bravo. (Thanks @claireglen, I didn't spot that.)

May be I will try 3 fast days together see if that helps ;-)

I don't think you need to. There is, somewhere on this forum, research into 3 fast days as opposed to 2 & the weight loss wasn't much, if any, different, if I remember correctly.

I think that @mariondot40 is referring to something @Debs tried, as suggested by Dr Varady in her book, namely: three fasting days in a row - where fast == 500 calories each day - which was / is meant to shift a plateau. Details in the ADF tent, if I remember correctly...

Didn't find a reference to that in her book but did find one on her facebook page:

"A couple of people have asked: "Will weight loss during the Every Other Day Diet (EOD) reach a plateau after several months?"

Yes, some people have experienced weight loss plateaus after 4-6 months of EOD dieting. If this is happening to you, I would recommend adding another fast day to your week, as well as another exercise session (45 min). This has helped most people break through the plateau."

She clarified this later to state: "It works out to be 3 consecutive fast days."

In my experience two-in-a-row isn't particularly difficult, but can be stressing. But three? Hmmm..
