General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

I read that "Psyllium supplements may reduce or delay the absorption of certain medications".

That made me wonder if they may also reduce the uptake of calories from other food eaten at the same time as the seeds? Anyone knows if this might be the case?
All I know about psyllium is that it reduces cholesterol and I don't know the mechanism. Also it is a bulking agent which causes formed stools which can give you gripes and you need to find a loo quickly
