This holiday season has been murder on my 5:2 WOE and weight loss journey. With Christmas parties right-left-and-centre as well as a house filled with lots of naughty foods and drinks, I found it impossible to stick to it for the last two weeks, and I betcha that next week will also be a "fail" of epic proportion. My husband and I are going on a short one week holiday and lots of the "forbidden" foods and drinks are stowing away in the camper-trailer. Yikes! I know that when we get back (on the 9th of Jan), hubby and I will both be returning to work so I'll get my fasting groove back on, but I am terrified of stepping on the scale and seeing how much damage and setback I've gotten myself into. How did you guys survive the holiday period?

This is a time to enjoy yourself, so relax and remember you can always come back to fasting after the holiday. I have managed two fasts in the last two weeks but I'm pretty sure I have still put on a few pounds. Have a lovely time.
Yes, go easy on yourself @Fastidious. It's a lifestyle not a diet. You'll get back on the wagon when you go back to work. Meanwhile, enjoy the feast and have a wonderful time. Where are you going?
Thanks @ rawkaren and @Sallyo. Yup! You guys are echoing what my DH has been telling me (his words were "stop being such a Nazi about food! This IS the holiday season... Enjoy!" LOL! I know I can easily get back on track after the Christmas/New Year binge is over. 5:2 isn't a goal, it's an adventure!
Sallyo, we're heading to Girraween National Park, near Stanthorpe. Great little spot on the Granite Belt.
