First fast today
23 Feb 2013, 11:51
Started my first fast today, have just had cup of tea with splash of milk (cals counted) and I'm planning on holding out till around 6pm before a meal (nice bowl of vegetable soup and maybe some bread). Have had a lazy dvd morning with my daughter in bed so not really thought about eating so so far so good, have counted in some fruit incase I struggle to get to 6pm but I'm not really feeling hungry. Hoping I can last the day and get my first fast under my belt :) xx

I bet you will end the day feeling quite amazed at how easy it is. Get plenty of fluids in.

Very true...Amazed. I had a banana around 2.30 as ny daughter was eating a snack and it set me off on wanting food but afterwards it made me feel sick!! Have held out till now and just had bowl of vegetable soup and slice of bread. Had 2 cups of tea and some diet coke plus lots of water. So all in all I've had around 380 calories give or take a few. Have got some low calorie yogurts in if I feel hungry before bed but soooo happy I've managed to get through the day :)xx

Yay! I couldn't believe how simple it was. I've done five so far and none have been too scary.. Especially knowing you can eat well the next day. :-)

Yeah, I find I don't want to go mental on feast days. In fact, I am already finding my appetite is changing. I no longer feel compelled to eat as soon as I get up and if I eat a lot I feel sick so I tend to eat smaller portions. Never thought my attitude to food would change so quickly.. I am very pleased (Oh and I have lost 6 pounds in eleven days which is great).

Totally agree with all you're saying Teresab.
I LOVE fast days, and feel so much better mentally and physically than I have in a very long time.
I feel I have to continue to stay healthy.
Got the fast days sussed and now trying to work out what works best on the non fast days.
Good luck.

I know what you mean, it used to be in was always thinking what can I eat next, but today I know what I'm going to have for lunch/dinner and have got fruit and low calorie yogurts in if I fancy snacking, I have ever just bought a mars bar from the shop...usually it be gone by time I got home but it's sat in the kitchen cupboard now!!
