Eating if not hungry?
09 Mar 2013, 19:27
On first fast day today (eaten really badly for the last 2 days, had some real big chocolate/sweet binges!) so far today i've had 1 egg, 3 cups of peppermint tea and squash. I don't feel hungry, should i carry on fasting or eat the rest of my calories? i fear that if i start eating now, it'll make me want more!

Hi jackdaniels and welcome! :)

You don't have to eat all your calories if you don't want to. How and when, or indeed if, you have your calories is entirely up to you.

You're not hungry because your body has gone into fasting mode. It thinks no food is available, so hunger pains shut off. If you are not hungry, don't eat. I usually only eat 250-300 calories on fast day in the form of protein. After that, food just makes me hungrier. When you start eating again, body steps out of fast mood and hunger sets in again.
