Just had a Chinese and feel yuck, hopefully my body is telling me it only wants healthy now
I only got half way through my Chinese takeaway last night and I was stuffed. I was so disappointed!! :(
I've just ordered mine, lets hope i enjoy it..
I was at a Chinese banquet last weekend, and eat LOTS of fantastic food, and drank quite a lot of alcohol, however, in the 8 days since, I have felt lethargic at work and around the house, I have struggled to motivate myself, and have really struggled to get up in the mornings, many nights having slept badly. All of these problems used to plague me before I started IFing in January, and only over the last month had I noticed they had improved vastly. I am continuing to fast, and hopefully normal service will resume shortly.
I find I have a bit of a reaction to the MSG in Chinese takeaways, always have done - but my body definitely doesn't like it so much since fasting. Give me an Indian any day :)
I too had a craving for Chinese take out on Saturday. Unfortunately I never seem to remember that the desire for it is always better than the reality of eating it. So after indulging I had a horrendous night sleep and I swear I could still feel my poor tummy trying to digest it yesterday. Still went ahead with my Sunday roast mind, well it was Mother's Day but I was seriously glad to fast today and give my poor digestive system a break.
Already starting to feel better.

Maybe I'll try an Indian next week
I had a takeaway over the weekend too- and plenty more food besides! One of the wonderful things about 5:2 (or whatever pattern you choose) is, you never have to feel too guilty for too long. Was really glad to get back to fasting today, and already feel a lot better physically and mentally (less bloated and tired and happily less guilty  )
I had a chinese buffet two weeks ago, it laid really heavily on my stomach the next day. In fact it put me off having a chinese take away yesterday. We are having one next Sunday for MIL's birthday, so I will see if I feel the same. I always get water retention after having chinese and my weigh in day is Monday :frown: I know that it will right its self within a few days, I don't get stressed about it now, I don't feel guilty anymore.
I have just started fasting 2 weeks ago, and had lost quite a few pounds until last weekend. I've found that at the weekend I too was still trying to eat as much food and all the treats I used to - take away, chocolates, cake.but that it actually is now making me feel too full, and sick even! I'm so used to comfort eating now that I find it really hard not to, even though my body is telling me it's not interested anymore. I'm worried that I'll end up putting on weight again, even though I really enjoy the fast days and still fast. Does anyone have any ideas?
I second Moogie on the MSG, definitely doesn't agree with me. If you've not been eating as much then your stomach could be more sensitive somehow to it so that if you've never had a problem with it before you could start now. When I have MSG it keeps me awake, I get indigestion, a grumbly tummy and a nasty taste in my mouth the next day.
