Football, Fasting and Headaches
12 Mar 2013, 23:46
1st Post - Hello All,

Well today is my fourth day (2nd week) on 5:2 FD - massive headache today and thought I would seek out some advice, which led me to this site. The forum posts helped me to address the need for paracetamol and hydration.

I do my fast days on days (Tues/Thurs) which I play football and have noted that I feel much more alert and suprisingly sharp. In two weeks my trousers have become a little looser, however, I have avoided the scales until I am into the flow of things - may need to start getting little more quantitative with the weight loss to see what effect the combined football and FD days are having. Anyone else noting elevated sharpness and energy when exercising of FD?
Hi Big Ginger Panda and welcome! :)

Many people have noted that they are more alert and have more energy on their fast days so you are not alone.

Also, it's thought that exercise on a fast day helps the body burn fat for energy, so it sounds like you're on to a winner there.
Hi Big Ginger Panda -
I've also noticed feeling sharper and lighter when I train on a Minday night, my first fast day of the week. I also don't feel Hank Marvin afterwards either like I used to, just have a cup of Oatly chocolate when I get in before I go to bed. I'm not sure my boxing has got any better mind, would have to ask the trainer!
