I have been doing the 5:2 fasting eating plan since 6th February so this is week 5 and to date I have lost at least 0.5kg every week with the biggest loss at the end of week 1 of 2.5kg!!! This morning when I weighed in I have lost 0.2kg which is not even half a pound so am a bit fed-up!! However I am in this for the long haul and at least I haven't put any weight on!!! I have to say that although losing weight is not the whole object of following this plan it does make the fasting days more worthwhile! But I am just hoping for better things next week. I have been excercising more this week and have taken up a class as well so am kidding myself that my fat is turning to muscle which weighs more!!

It's one of those bizarre things about weight-loss---it's not completely predictable. It's almost as if your body *needs* to pause a bit at times, to reassess itself. And yes, of course some of the fat is being swapped out for muscle!
But you did lose a little bit over the week (unlike me, who went up again slightly when I hit a plateau). So look back at the total loss over the total time, feel impressed with those totals, and stick with the fasting.

I've had weeks where I've appeared only to lose 0.1kg, but my average over almost six months is still well over 0.6. There's a lot of possible variation based on how much food and water happens to be in your system when you weigh yourself as well as just fat loss or gain, so I really wouldn't worry at all. You're still on track!
Just knock that brick wall over...exercise and lots of water help. Are you eating too much salty food or beverages? Maybe try changing up your fasting days to trick your body a bit?
Keep at it!

Read the FAQ on this subject, as it can be lots of things but mainly that some weeks any loss of fat is outweighed hugely by changes in water.
Exercise can cause water retention in the muscles as they recover.

Hmm. Isn't 0.2kg of fat enough to power a 100W lightbulb for seven years?
Thanks guys!! Love the thought of my weight loss powering a 100W lightbulb for 7 years! Can't do any more excercise because of dodgy knees etc and do see this as a lifestyle change so will defo keep at it. But thanks for all the encouragement
