Hi Guys

I wonder, does anyone use my fitness pal to keep track either side of fast days ?

Love to hear from you

Hi P, I'm the same as Bobshouse. Was calorie counting since last May and using MFP, then saw Horizon programme and started 5:2. Since Christmas I've tried to cut down on using MFP - I can put all the data that I want down here on this forum as far as measurements/weight are concerned and I'm trying to let go of calorie counting on feast days now. I've got a good idea of a lot of things in my head, so don't feel I need to be as pedantic as I was about putting everything on MFP. It all still seems to be going well (albeit slowly) - and that is the joy of 5:2 we shouldn't have to be calorie counting on feast days

Lots of people seem to refer to it on here. I downloaded it but, like Bobshouse and Suchard 007, I am trying to overcome my obsession with calorie counting so I don't use it.

I use it religiously on fasting days to track calories, but not at all on non-fasting days. I don't track on non-fasting days but try just to think of eating food I want and that I will enjoy, without sabotaging my good efforts on fasting days. As long as I eat a reasonable diet on non-fasting days I'm happy enough.

Thanks for that. Perhaps I should just focus on this forum at least until I get into a good routine.

Have a great week everyone

I use the one from my fat secret mainly because I found I wasn't eating enough. Once I get used to the cal content of foods will stop but finding it an interesting exercise at the moment.

Since I'm only into my 2nd week of 5:2'ing, I find it helpful to log everything into MFP everyday. On fast days to ensure I don't exceed the 500 cal and on non-fast days to learn what food looks like for my daily TDEE. I may not use it forever but it's a very helpful tool at the moment.

I've been using it for over 2 years now, so it's become a habit. It's very useful for fast days, and I'm less strict about it being accurate on other days, I just have it as a sort of menu record.

Melanie cheeks like you I use it everyday, I like to see how much I am eating on my feast days. My recommended calories on MFP is 1200 however as I am now doing the 5:2 diet I'm not as religious with the 1200 but I do try and not go over 1400/1500.
