Fasting with PCOS
25 Mar 2013, 12:22
Are there any ladies attempting 5:2 who also suffer with PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS around two years ago, and have definitely noticed that I find it hard to lose weight. I try to eat a low GI diet as much as possible to stabilise my blood sugar levels as PCOS is linked with insulin resistance in many sufferers, and although I haven't been tested for this, I thought it better to be on the safe side .

I was just wondering how others were finding their fast days, and whether it was having and positive/negative effects on their PCOS symptoms?

Hi Pikku MYY
I have had PSOC all my adult life....I have struggled with my weight all my adult life....tried and failed most diets...now at 57 I am now entering week 6 of 5:2 with an average loss of 1 1/2 lbs per week...i feel more confident than I have ever been.
Good Luck
