168 calories over....
28 Mar 2013, 19:17
I've had such a rotten day. Busy at work, anxious about a busy day tomorrow. Tried desperately to stick to fast today but decided I'd have an equal portion as my husband of our noodle dinner. Thankfully a rice noodle stir fry clocked in at 500 calories so not too much damage done combined with a cuppa soup and dried fruit for lunch, but still feel a bit guilty for going over. Had a very slow weight loss with 5:2 but in principal my scientific brain loves the concept, so gonna stick with it at least until my summer holidays in June.
Roll on tomorrow: made my lunch of cheese coleslaw sarnies and got sweeties to sweeten up my colleagues, of which I may sneak a few into my gob :)

Not all days are good days and you still ate quite less than any day so you're OK!

Well done only going 168 cals over, having a rotten day you could've said "blow it" & eaten normally but you didn't so feel pleased with yourself instead of guilty. :like:

Guilty is one of my least favourite emotions. thanks for your support TML13 and Ginty. But you're right, 668daily total is pretty good. Also, sitting beside husband scoffing ice cream and managed to say no to an offered spoonful so all in all, willpower prevails!!

Do not beat yourself up about it. Last week on one of my fasting days I had had my 500 cal at tea time and still was hungry. Waited for an hour, still hungry, needed food. I had 300 cals of chocolate!!! I enjoyed it, did not feel guilty, did not binge. I was careful next day with cals, did not eat any chocolate for a few days, didn't want it. I have had no problem with my fasts this week. I lost 1.5 lbs last week. On other diets I would have thought I'd of failed, blown it and given up until the following week. Do feel mentally I have got a better relationship with food in the 8 weeks since I started.

I think this is the wonderful thing about this WOE. Normally after a day like today feeling really low in energy, I'd be right into the kettle chips and cadburys caramel. But tonight, feeling like I feel, i 'cheated' with a slightly bigger evening meal. Still managed to go to the supermarket starving hungry and buy a whole heap of crisps and choc, but know full well I can eat some of them over the weekend and not bat an eyelid at it. It's definitely teaching me moderation, appreciation of proper whole foods whilst ditching the low-calorie crap with no nutritional value, and completely cutting out my previous comfort eating binges. Can't complain really...
