Fourth fast day...
26 Jan 2013, 09:03
So... it's my fourth fast day today! I've just had an almost black coffee (with a weeny dash of skimmed milk)! I finished my meal at 6pm last night so will have lunch at about noon today! :D

Really going to try and stick to 500 cals instead of 600 but we'll see how i feel! Still really struggling with this fasting malarky - me and the feeling of hunger do not go well at all so it's the health benefits keeping me going!

I feel more trim after nearly 2 weeks on the 5:2 woe. I think i have lost about 2-3lb but can't weigh myself until the 11th Feb (agreement with my friend)!

So far the fast days are so so hard for me. All i do is think about food all day, when i can eat, what the time is and wishing the day away!! I don't feel i have much energy on a fast day either which i guess can be normal as you get energy from food!

For lunch i will have a warburtons thin (100 cals) filled with philadelphia and grilled red peppers) - prob about 140cals in total. Then have a half decent meal tonight!

I'm very sniffly and feeling more cold lately - i guess that is a result of fasting?!

Dear god help me survive today and help these fast days get easier!!!

I'm just sipping my black coffee now; it's my second fast today, and I found on the first that the hunger passes. I'm not having bready stuff at all on my fast days, because carbs set me off wanting to eat - knowing I can have them tomorrow helps. I found sticking to protien & veg and oil & butter (just a smigion, calorie counted) really satisfying. Have a lovely day. C x

Sorry you are finding it hard Ch1ckpea, try drinking lots of non- or low- calorie liquids. As well as tea and coffee (and water, of course) several people have recommended thin soups, or even just a good stock cube dissolved in water. (Diet Coke and the like seem to be regarded as bad for this purpose though I am not sure why.) I find fasting easier on work days because I have other things to focus on - and no nearby fridge.

Thanks guys. It's not too bad today, i went for a walk with my little girl this morning and that took my mind off food. I've just had a little 'Warburtons thin' sandwich with grilled red pepper and cream cheese and now just waiting for my veggie soup to finish cooking - they will take me to just over 250cals :-)

Just keeping busy today and looking forward to eating what i want tomorrow!!

So... it hasn't been too bad actually - maybe one of the slighlty easier fast days i've had (i think)!

Veggie soup and 'thin' sandwich with grilled pepper and extra light philadelphia for lunch - 274 cals
1/2 portion of quorn chilli with 40g wholewheat pasta - 234 cals = 508 in total.

Not bad - it's actually quite fun working out low cal/tasty meals!

I had to drag myself off the sofa earlier (no energy) and i did half an hour of an aerobics DVD and it made me feel more energised and so much better!! I will bare that in mind on my next fast day!

Felt more positive today but am very much looking forward to a big breakfast tomorrow!! :-)
