Morning/afternoon peeps!
I don't have a tape measure and I don't even know where to go and buy one, I've even asked my friends but nobody has one (are we weird people?).
Still nobody knows my body better than I do and I know exactly the size of my tummy at any given weight.
So, I'm pretty sure that I lost more size than weight and my clothes confirm it as well.
Canny say that I mind, I don't care what my scales show as long as a certain pair of jeans fit!!!
Great stuff TML... Lots of places sell tape measures including HobbyCraft if that is any help.
TML, I hear you. I've lost a decent amount of weight my first month, but I really feel I've lost a lot of inches as well. I'm not measuring myself, but like you, I know my body...and I'm shrinking! Yay!
Newme, I don't live in the UK. It might sound weird but I know where I could buy a tape measure in London. I admit that I don't know how to shop in Athens (as in I don't know where to go to buy many things) but none of my friends know either so I guess it's a matter of not using something, thus don't know where to get it.
Anyway, I have a range of pairs of jeans that are waiting for me to fit in them so when I do, I know that I did well without scales or tapes to tell me about it.
Before I bought my tape measure, I used a piece string and then measured it against a ruler. But I'm liking your idea of an awaiting pair of jeans!

I am told that using a piece of string and then measuring it might give or take a couple cm and give me a false number.
I'm liking the idea of getting in them, LOL!
Go on tell me .........I'm stupid but who's paul lovering ?
Haaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

You aren't stupid!!! He's a footy player from Glasgow and my favourite cousin.
I was wondering who he was as well!
and, btw, I wish I'd measured my hips when I started this, my waist is reducing gradually but I think my bum is too - I just don't have any statistical evidence.
Moira, I don't have statistical evidence either but yesterday I wore a pair of jeans that two weeks ago was impossible to even try to wear it!!! That is better evidence than any stats!!! :-D
This 5:2 is so easy for me. I did take my measurements prior to beginning and after 5 weeks here are the results: 3 inches off the bust, 3 inches off the hips, no change on the waist, total of 8 pounds lost, first 6 were in first 2 weeks. I definitely think losing the inches is inspiration to continue on with this. I did have blood work done prior to beginning and will have it done again after four months on it. I do wonder why my waist measurement remains the same, but now I am going to start trying to do some sit-ups and see if that helps. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Currently, my exercise is walking 2-4 miles 5 days a week, the doggie loves it!
Canny help you with that because I didn't take any measurements.
