Accidental fast yesterday
11 Apr 2013, 07:37
Today is meant to be my second fast, however I spent all yesterday working in the garden, painting the shed, cleaning out the chickens and generally pottering. By 2pm I realised I hadn't had any lunch and only half banana for breakfast - so I decided to continue to make that my fast day. It was quite easy in the end as I already had prepared the veggies for a fast stirfry. Went out for a long bike ride with my sister and then we headed to the cinema. There were a few hiccups that I prefer to view as learning opportunities:
[1] If I drink two pints of diet coke, I will miss most of the film going to the loo
[2] If I drink two pints of diet coke, I will get a cracking headache during the night
[3] If I drink two pints of diet coke, I will not be able to sleep

Learning point - do not drink diet coke !!

It's great when you realise that you've been fasting without really trying
And don't worry about the diet coke - it's all trial & error. Yesterday was my 27th fast & the first time I've really felt unwell.Got a cracking headache ( for the time when fasting) from 4pm onwards. Hadn't eaten all day which was pretty normal but I had been out & about in the car all day & not drinking my usual amount of water
Won't make that mistake again!

This also happens to me sometimes - I literally forget to eat! I drink lots of water every day (no other beverages) and it fills me up. I learnt to recognise that what I thought was a hunger pang was in fact my body telling me it was thirsty.
