Free from diet club weight ins
13 Apr 2013, 19:19
Looking at people's trackers on this site it made me think how useless weekly weigh ins at diet clubs really are. I can't bear to think how many times I've been disappointed to 'put on' or 'stay the same', go home and then think 'well that's that, I may as well have something to eat that I really want' and fall off the wagon.
I've realised that we don't lose weight on a straight, downward trajectory, it's much more complex than that with fits, starts and stops all the way.
Thank goodness that's all behind me now and, with the support of this forum, I'll soon have a smaller behind too!
I totally agree! I have just booked two weeks off Slimming World weigh in to see what happens on this diet as although I have lost 1.5 stone in 3 months, I feel it could be abit quicker and less hassle!
I think the average is about one pound a week so not quick but much less hassle and very flexible. Hope you like it and good luck.
Liberating isn't it? I've never got on with the idea of those weekly weigh-ins. After all, a weigh-in is merely a snapshot and if it happens to be a bad day for you it becomes set in stone leaving you depressed and discouraged for another whole week. You might not lose as fast on 5:2 but it should be true fat. The scales can go up and down with fluid etc so be sure to take some other measurements or find some trousers or a skirt that feels too tight and use that as a guide as well. :clover:
