Just got an email from pizza express titled Feast not Fast - the link describes the new Leggara salad 'Under 300 cals perfect for the 5 2 diet' . This WOE is really catching on!

Haha, I just got that email too - saving it for later. I've had the Leggiera pizza (500 cals, has a hole in the middle which they fill with rocket salad) and it's delicious. I love the fact that I can go to Pizza Express on a Fast day!

You beat me to it .... !!! They also do a sorbet for under 100 calories as well. I've always liked their Legerra range. Other Italian chains seem to be joining in to this idea as well, though the one with a very short name's idea of a side-salad was more like a salad garnish !!!

I had an advertising email from Pizza Express today and they are saying that their 'light' options are suitable "even if you are 5:2 fasting".

Personally I think it's missing the point slightly. If I'm going out for a meal, then I won't be doing it on a fast day!

I agree even though if you go onto the Pizza Express website, all their menu choices have their calorific values listed, interesting and shocking at the same time

That's just a method of advertising! Pretty good advertising too, jumping in the 5:2 bandwagon is a good business strategy ;0)
