Should I be suspicious..?
08 May 2013, 07:54
Hello all,

I had my first fast day yesterday, and although I felt a bit lightheaded at times, and rather dozy in the evening, I didn't really feel overly hungry, and any pangs were kind of satisfying. I also felt very alert at my desk during the day.

I ate 600 calories (I know this is over, but I gave in to a latte!) in small meals and a few snacks from 10am-6pm, cycled 6 miles, walked the dog twice and did a bit of decorating.

Are all fast days this 'easy' or have I just gone in with a dieter's first day gusto?!

Hell Katastrophe- sounds good. Some folk breeze through it, others struggle, others don;t have two fasts the same. Hopefully all your fasts will be a breeze :victory: :)

I've been at this for 1.5 months, and fasts are still variable for me. I find weekends easier, because I'm not forced to sit still and work and can find many things to distract me from hunger. Occasionally on weekdays, I struggle to concentrate.

Anyway, welcome and good luck!

Without doubt my fast days are easier now than when I started 4 weeks ago. I seem to emotionally manage the direction of the day much better; I plan my fast days on Tues and Thurs when I have reallly full days at work then make sure I have organised my filling evening meal and that all important low fat hot chocolate before bed. I can't remember who recommended that but it has been a fast saver! Thank you.

I'm still finding my feet with varying my fast meals. I am lucky that my family are old enough to sort themselves out for food- cooking for a big family was always a food trap for me over the past few years so I do understand the challenges of mums and dads with a little family.

I find most fasts really easy and just keep getting on with normal things. Once in a while I find it harder - maybe down to weather, time of the month or just lack of things to do!

Well done indeed on such a great first fast :)
