Newbie with a question
15 May 2013, 16:36
Hey guys

I started this diet on Monday and halfway through my second fast today, I checked my tdee and it says I should be having 414 calories on my fast day but to be honest I'm just managing to keep it to the 500 mark think I'd really struggle with 414 at the moment! Is this a massive issue? Help!

Any advice would be much appreciated thanks!

Nah, I wouldn't worry about it! I struggled to keep it to 500 at the beginning, was probably closer to 600 on my first few fast days, and it didn't seem to negatively affect my weight loss. Personally, I like to keep it simple and keep to Dr M's recommendations of 500 and not worry too much about a few over or under.

I wouldn't worry, the 500 or 414 cals is only a suggestion, if the diet works on 500 go with it. I don't think anyone knows the effects of a few more calories. I'll be interested to see what others think...

I've just re-checked my TDEE on different websites and it can vary from 1750 to 2250 which is quite a lot of difference when it comes to fast days. I'm new too and was sticking to about 600 on fast days and lost 6lbs in 2 weeks, so I don't think going as low as 414 is a must.Phew! Good luck and let us know how you get on.
