putting up with hunger on fast days has helped me to eliminate snacking between meals. I usually have 3 a day, though not much for breakfast, and sometimes not much for dinner. Now if I can just get the wine under control...

I have been eating low carb for years and continue to eat this way even on 5:2, my body feels better not eating sugar, flour and other starches. On fast days I eat breakfast and lunch and on non fast days I eat 3 meals. I tend to eat more on the weekends.
I don't eat until the evening on a Fast day.
Therefore having all 500 calories in one go. Thus it doesn't make me go to bed hungry!
During the evening I do ironing or have a total pamper bath...going to bed early. BLISS!
I love Fast days for this alone !!
